Hotel indonesiaHotel Indonesia is the first hotels built in Jakarta, Indonesia. Hotel was inaugurated on August 5, 1962 by the First President, Sukarno to welcome the Asian Games IV in 1962. Indonesia Hotel building designed by architect Abel Sorensen and his wife, Wendy, from the United States. Occupying a land area of 25,082 square meters, the hotel has the slogan A Dramatic Symbol of Free Nations Working Together.

The hotel is designated as cultural heritage by the government of Jakarta with the release of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Decree No. 475 dated March 29, 1993.

Currently, Indonesia Hotel restoration is completed in stages. Hotel Indonesia is managed by the Kempinski group and the name was revised into the Hotel Indonesia – Kempinski, although initially there mass demonstrations since the turn of managers. The area around the Hotel Indonesia is now a multi-purpose complex with the name of Grand Indonesia, which consists of office buildings (BCA and Grand Indonesia Tower Office Tower), apartment (Kempinski Residence), and shopping centers. One of the tenants who had occupied part of the Grand Indonesia shopping mall is the movie theater and 3 Blitzmegaplex Seibu department store, Debenhams, Alun-Alun Indonesia.
