Taking a Holiday to Corfu in the Greek Isles

A vacation trip to the Greek Emerald Isle of Corfu is a trip to a small ‘piece of heaven.’ With 20 or more islands to choose from, you do not want to miss the ‘adventure of a life-time’ with a visit to Corfu. The isle is alive with beauty and full of quaint homes, cottages and various places to shop. Perhaps the most wonderful aspect of a trip to this particular site is the succulent Greek, traditional foods in addition to the sparkling wines available at the many island taverns. The grand emerald isle beaches are well known and quite famous for their pure beauty, white sands and rocky, hidden coves. There are beaches filled with tourists and secluded beaches if you prefer quiet with only the sound of the waves breaking against the shore. Swim in the crystal waters of the coves from May through October as the water temperatures are quite comfortable. The hotels are replete with swimming pools and if you have brought the children along with you, there is a wonderful water park known as Aqualand.

A beautiful spot to visit on the island is Paleokastritsa. Luxury boats sail in to view the lush beauty and small coaches crowd into town to bring tourists in for a magnificent look at everything. The Achillion Palace is another adventure with its prolific gardens and a great view of the sea. For fun, food and dancing, many local festivals are a real summer treat.
